For Tonight: A Poem

Can’t stop,

No time for

Sick days

Or rest.

College isn’t for the weak.

Hard to focus,

Pausing isn’t positive

Today this is life.

Tonight, is for sleep,

Tomorrow has to do.

Too much on my plate

No time to be sick.

How can I rest

When my future is at risk?

Give me time,

Help me see

Because of you there is time for everything.

I will rest

For tonight.

Becoming: A Poem

Beginning to end,

Back around again.

Top to bottom,

Backward and forwards.

Listening to your new words,

Remembering the past.

Grown,

Where we are going is unknown.

Who you are is new to me.

Opinion doesn’t matter,

Only Yours above.

Who are You?

Another round.

What I am listening to is different,

But the cause

Is all together You alone.

Maybe we aren’t so different.

Subtle changes

Constant growth,

We are becoming.

Through It All: A Poem

One, two

One, two, three

Step-step, cha-cha-cha.

Going for it all the way

Scare and all,

Holding nothing back.

David faces Goliath.

You face the steps.

The mistake

Not holding you back.

Giving it everything

Even if

You are afraid.

But failure isn’t keeping you

From trying,

Keeping you from going,

Taking it all.

You have sparkle.

You have charm.

But perseverance is what will get you through

It all.
