Hamish DeLuca has spent most of his life hiding the anxiety that flares at the most inconvenient times, including his first court case as a new lawyer. Reggie runs away to Boston determined to make it as an independent woman. Finding a job becomes the least of her worries when her love of mysteries collides with her reality. The opening night of Flamingo becomes the night that changes Hamish and Reggie’s lives forever. They team up to expose a murderer before the darkness destroys everything they have worked to build.
I wanted to love Murder At The Flamingo. However, throughout the story
the tensions of romance and mystery did not collide, but clashed. There was
great character development, I fell in love with this crew of individuals, but
the murder mystery fell flat. I enjoy a mystery that has me on the edge of my
seat with sleuthing, twists and turns, adventure, and peril. That was not found
in these pages. Even though the twist was not predictable, at least I didn’t
see it coming, it fell flat. This may all be due to my personal taste. I fell
in love with the characters and will read the next book when it comes out, just
to see what happens to them. Mystery wise, I have very low expectations for what
comes next. If you are looking for a character driven, light mystery, period
piece, this Murder At The Flamingo might be something you will enjoy.- Hannah
