Locked Inside: A Poem

Locked inside
Glass castles,
Room to room
Always Seen,
Completely unknown.

Grief
Shatters reality
Coating the heart
In glass,
Shielding pain.

But every shatter brings
The cutting pain,
Every whisper stare
Reigns
A prisoner to protection.

The false shelter
Of glass,
A reflection of what is
Blocking what could
Be.

Grief can be seen,
The experience impossible to hide,
Inside the glass rattles,
Let love
Inside.

The unknown is meant
To be known,
Pain tries to avoid,
But glass reflections can’t hide
The need for love.
