As we continue to build up our wonder muscles and start
viewing our disappointments with the proper lens, there is one key that
surpasses all of our brain rewiring.
Jesus.
This week we are going to dive deep into the vine, our source for nourishment and strength. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
Apart from Jesus we cannot do anything. We can try and
strive, but we will burn out on our own. We can’t dream and be all that we are
created to be on our own. Our world is all about getting it all on our own and
making your own way, but the way has already been paved by Jesus. Who better to
journey with than the one who made the way for us?
We need the source of life, strength, and growth that is
Jesus to face this life and work towards our dreams. Remaining in Christ is to
be with him continually, then the fruit will come in our lives. He grows it in
us as we remain. We do not have to force, create, or make it come to be; it
just happens because of Jesus. We cannot grow the fruit of the Spirit on our
own, we need to abide with him to grow.
We cannot do anything without him.
With him we will bear much fruit, you can count on it. That
fruit is what helps us to not only know God and grow in our faith, but go
through every high and low of our dreams with perseverance. We need him to
endure.
We had wonder assignments and this week we are going to have
Remaining Assignments.
Remaining Assignment #1: Read John 15 today and every day
this week and journal any thoughts/words/questions that come up for you.
